Temporary shedding is possible. The regenerative cascade accelerates the exit of resting-phase (telogen) hairs to initiate new anagen-phase growth. This is a positive biological response — not a side effect. It is the single most important thing to understand before your Exosmart™ treatment.

How is Exosmart™ different from the exosome hair treatments I see advertised?
Exosmart™ uses your own biological material — not synthetic or donor-derived exosomes. The secretome is harvested from your own platelet-rich plasma and processed to concentrate growth factors and signalling molecules. There are no foreign substances, no allergy risk, and no ethical concerns. Most products marketed as “exosome therapy” use allogeneic (donor) material of variable quality and regulatory status. Exosmart™ is fully autologous, clinically mapped, and administered by a specialist.
How many Exosmart™ sessions will I need for hair restoration?
Most patients require an initial course of 3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. After completing the course, a trichoscopic review is performed to assess follicular response. Maintenance sessions every 4–6 months are then typically recommended to sustain results. The exact protocol is tailored to your Norwood or Ludwig stage, degree of miniaturisation, and treatment goals.
Will my hair grow back after Exosmart™ treatment?
Exosmart™ works by reversing follicular miniaturisation and stimulating dormant follicles — it does not create new follicles where none exist. Patients with active but miniaturised follicles typically see measurable improvement in density, calibre, and coverage. Those with completely dormant or scarred follicles are unlikely to respond. Will I lose more hair before it grows back — what is the shedding phase?
A temporary shedding phase can occur 2–6 weeks after the first session. This is a normal part of follicular cycling — the secretome triggers dormant follicles to shed old, miniaturised hairs and re-enter the anagen (growth) phase. Shedding is typically mild and self-limiting. New growth usually becomes visible from around 3 months, with continued improvement up to 6–9 months post-treatment course.
